Farm Animals
We have goats, chickens, dogs, and cats on the property. Our animals are friendly, but we want all guests to feel comfortable — please let us know if you have concerns.
Water Supply
Gravity-fed spring water for drinking, cooking, and filling bottles. Clean mountain water — no filter needed.

Easy AT Access
Highway 58 (The Crooked Road) in Whitetop, VA. Easy on/off for AT hikers at Mile 496.5. Near Grayson Highlands and Mt. Rogers.

Cabin Creek
100 yards of creek frontage runs right through the property — fed by the same waters that feed Cabin Creek Falls up in Grayson Highlands. Rainbow, Brown, and Native trout swim through.
Sit by the water — let your feet hang in the creek, watch the trout swim by, listen to the water float past. A peaceful spot after a long day on the trail.
Food & Provisions
Breakfast available upon request with a donation. Specialties include eggs of all kinds, pancakes, French toast, omelets (meat or vegetarian), bacon, and sausage. Most ingredients are locally grown — including homemade maple syrup and kombucha from right here on the property. No lunches or dinners as of now.

Before you book
The things hikers and travellers ask us most. Anything else, give us a call.
Is there a shower?
Yes — an indoor heated shower, available to everyone staying with us including tent and RV guests. There are also two porta potties on the grounds.
Do you take walk-ins, or do I need to book ahead?
We take walk-ins when we have space, but we can't promise it — especially on autumn weekends and during spring thru-hiker season, when we fill up. If you know your dates, booking ahead is the safe move.
Can I mail a resupply box to you?
Yes, we hold mail drops for hikers. Get in touch before you send it so we know it's coming and whose name it's under.
Is there cell signal and WiFi?
We have Starlink WiFi at the hostel, which is genuinely fast. Cell signal in the surrounding mountains is patchy to nonexistent, so download your maps before you head out.
Are dogs allowed?
Yes. We have our own dogs, cats, goats and chickens on the property, so please keep yours under control around the animals and around other guests.
What are the sleeping options and what do they cost?
The bunkhouse sleeps four at $40 a night, booked by the bed. The yurt is $100 and sleeps three. The glamping tent — queen bed, electric, linen, private deck and fire pit — is $60. Tent pads are $15 if you bring your own shelter, and the RV spot with 50-amp electric is $35. Every one of them includes the same amenities.
Is food available?
We do food on request, made with locally grown ingredients and our own homemade maple syrup. Donations accepted. Let us know ahead of time so we can plan for it.
